VEGAS!

Hello!

Well, I've had quite the adventuresome weekend. :) But I figure I should start with where I left off in my last post. :P

So last Saturday, I didn't do too much. Nathan and I went out to lunch and then studied in the library for a while, and then I think that night we just watched a movie or something. I can't really remember. It was far too long ago and my brain is nowhere near its normal functioning level. :P

And then this past week I spent finishing up all of my work, making up tests, and getting pretty much everything in order for the end of classes. Thursday was the last day of classes, and then Friday was a Reading Day, aka Vacation Day. :P

James came down from Logan and is back for the winter break, so Friday night I went over to Coventry to see him and we watched two episodes of Band of Brothers and talked for a bit. Then Saturday morning I woke up and Somers brought me breakfast in bed for my birthday, and then I did a take home final, then quickly packed. Mack and I got her car from Payson, and then we set off on a five hour drive to Las Vegas! :D

We forgot about the time change, and so we ended up with an extra hour on the strip that we hadn't been planning on. So we just walked around a bit, grabbed some dinner, and freshened up for the concert. Then we headed over to the Hard Rock Hotel, found a girl who had agreed to buy our extra tickets for more than we'd paid (so we made at least a little profit off of them :P), and then we headed inside The Joint for the concert. The first two opening acts were pretty decent--I'd never heard of them before. The first one to play was Afghan Raiders, and they were sort of an electrorock group. Then it was Paper Tongues, and they had SEVEN people in their band. Quite a lot. They were pretty good too--the lead singer definitely had a set of lungs. Man. I was pretty impressed by how well he could sing. I'd been expecting some really crappy openers. :P Paper Tongues was more of a modern rock band. And then it was Cage the Elephant, which was the bigger band of the three openers, and they were... well, not to my taste, shall we say. :P The lead singer was one of those types that's more concerned with dancing around and looking like he's having a half hour long seizure rather than singing well. There were only two songs that I thought he actually performed well on, because he calmed down a bit and stopped jittering and running all around the stage. :P It was kind of one of those bands where I felt like I'd really like them if it weren't for the lead singer. :P

And then came Muse. And I nearly died. It was so amazing! I pretty much fell in love with them all over again. :P They played four of their new songs, beginning their set with Uprising, which was utterly amazing. And even though they didn't have their full show or anything, it was still spectacular for what they DID have. They're just such amazing live performers!

Afterwards we just went back to the car, got ourselves ready to go, and then drove straight back to Provo. We both stayed awake (thanks to the help of a lot of Mountain Dew :P) and just belted along to the cds we had. We wanted to make it through the night because there was a weather alert saying that a storm was going to hit today, and we didn't want to be snowed in away from Provo. Seeing as it's finals week this week, and being stuck out of Provo would NOT be a good thing. So we drove straight through the night (and didn't hit much bad weather. It just rained a bit, and there was a little snow, but nothing major). We got into Provo at around 8:30 this morning with no sleep (aside from a 1 hour power nap I had from 6:30-7:30, but that doesn't really count. It didn't do a thing, cause it was one of those "close your eyes and wake up and its light outside" types of power naps :P). Then Mack and I were so wired up from the soda that we couldn't fall asleep, so we put in It's A Wonderful Life and tried to fall asleep to that. She eventually conked out, but I didn't fall asleep until 1 in the afternoon. And then I woke up at 3. So now I'm functioning on 3 hours of unrestful sleep. And I'm in that state where I'm past the point of sleep and my MIND is alert and not tired at all, but my body is tired. But there's no way I'm going to be able to fall asleep right now. But at least I know I'll sleep well tonight! :P

Tonight I'll probably go watch a movie with Scott and James, and I may practice for my makeup final on Matt. Tomorrow I'm using as a study day, and I plan on taking my Bio final and my New Testament final on Tuesday. Then Wednesday night is my makeup final, and Thursday morning is my Creative Writing final (which I hesitate to call a final, because we're just revising something we've already written and reading it aloud to the class :P). Then Thursday I fly to Disneyland! Whoo!

I don't anticipate my finals being too difficult. The only one I think I might struggle with a little is my Bio final, but I have a pretty good grade in that class, so even if I do poorly, it won't make a HUGE difference. Anyways, that pretty much catches me up to the present. :)

I'm just still so excited I got to see Muse last night. Oh! And yesterday morning, I bought tickets to see their actual TOUR in Salt Lake in April! I'm so excited! So I get to see them TWICE in the same school year :D They added a tour date for the Resistance Tour for April 5th at the E-Center in West Valley City, and the Silversun Pickups are opening for them. I actually know the Silversun Pickups, so I'll know BOTH bands. :D And then Muse will play a full set rather than the short one they had last night for the holiday concert, and they'll play more from The Resistance. Last night they played Uprising, United States of Eurasia, MK Ultra, and Unnatural Selection from The Resistance. The rest were old songs. They played Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole, Time Is Running Out, Knights of Cydonia, Stockholm Syndrome, Plug in Baby, and... one other. I can't remember what the last one was. Oh well. I'm excited I get to see them again. :D

I'll post more later when I have more to say. :P

The Last Weeks

Hey!
So the last couple weeks have been full of a lot of random happenings. I'm down to one more week of class and then a week of finals and I'm done with this semester! It's crazy how fast this semester has gone by, and how little I've gone to class. :P

This past week I've been studying like crazy. Starting Monday, I began working pretty much nonstop on all of my make up work/homework/studying that I need to do before the end of classes. I spent 21 hours on Monday and Tuesday doing work straight. Tuesday I spent 12 hours in the library, which was killer. And every night I've reserved a study room somewhere in the library so that a few of us can just spread our stuff out and have a place to work without having to worry about the people around us. So that's been pretty nice. But I've gotten quite a lot done, and now I'm down to my last few assignments, but it'll still take quite a lot of effort.

Today was the first break I gave myself since I started up school after Thanksgiving break. I had planned to do some more work today, but now that the end is in sight, I'm not as worried about finishing it all immediately, and today I had a lot of makeup to do. :) Sarah had a concert choir recital tonight, and so Mack and Krista curled her hair while I did her makeup. And then a little later I did Julie's makeup for the military ball, and then Mal's right after because she was going to the military ball on a blind date (one of Alan's friends from ROTC needed a date, so she went). And then I had to get MYSELF ready, because Matt and I were going out for dinner. So in between doing makeup for everybody, Krista, Somers, and I played Go Fish while watching the Phantom of the Opera, which was nice and relaxing and just what I needed after this week of straight work. And then Matt and I went to a Thai place that was DELICIOUS, and then we came back and watched A Very Potter Musical, which is hilarious. :)

And that pretty much catches me up to now. Tomorrow night there's a basketball game in Salt Lake, but I'm not going cause I didn't want to pay for tickets to a game I don't care about. But I have no idea what our plans are for tomorrow, so we'll see. :P

Well, this was a bit shorter than usual, but there really isn't much to tell. My life has just been a lot of hw/studying this week, so there's not really much to say. :P But next week I'll finish up all of my work, and then it'll be finals the next week, and then I'm off to Disneyland! :D

Oh, and next weekend on my birthday, Mack and I are going to Las Vegas to see Muse!!! I'm really excited for that. Man. I just need to get to next weekend and my life will be so much easier. Even though I'll have finals, I won't have as much work to do.

Well, it's getting late and we have a cleaning check in the morning, and I've also run out of things to say. So I shall end this here and will post more later when I've got more to tell. :)

Pictures

Here's some pictures from Halloween and makeup...
This was my practice makeup on Friday for Halloween. Mack had finished altering the dress, and I just did my face. Mal was a creepy marionette doll for Halloween.
The dead girl and the doll. :P
Mack told me that I looked like a punk bride with the ripped sleeves, so she told me to strike a rocker pose. It was only until later when we looked at the picture that we realized I was making the "I love you" sign in sign language. So... this picture says "I LOVE YOU!!!" :P Mack has officially decided she wants a wedding picture like this. :P
This was the dress BEFORE it was altered. 10 foot train. And the poofy sleeves are still attached. And the back is pretty low. :P
Matt didn't have a costume, and Somers' came with the Raggedy Andy one as well as Raggedy Ann, so we just made him put on the costume real quick and I drew a red triangle on his nose. Tada! Instant costume. :) I'm not quite sure why they were strangling each other though :P
This is actually on Friday. Mack had a date on Halloween and Mal had to work, so neither were going to get to celebrate Halloween. So they dressed up Friday for classes, and then Somers and I joined them later that night. :P Mack is Wednesday from the Adams Family, then Somers as Raggedy Ann, me as Emily from the Corpse Bride, and Mal as a creepy marionette.
This is Tom, Nathan's roommate. I had just applied the first layer of the beard. :)
And this is the finished product: a Sean Connery beard and grayed hair. :) I was going to age his face as well, but when we looked at the prices for the makeup I was going to need, we decided not to. He's a poor college student, after all. :P
This was just for fun one day. When Mack saw my middle aged makeup, she wanted me to do hers as well. So one random weekend I turned her into an old lady. I think it turned out pretty well. :)

And that's all for now!

Hola

Hello!

Well, a lot and nothing has happened this past week. :P I'll just pick up with where I left off last time, shall I?

On Friday, Tom came and picked Mal and me up and we went over to Taylor Maid. I love that store. I've decided I want to work there next semester. I'd been thinking I should probably work two jobs for next semester, cause this tutoring one I have is only 10 hours a week, so I'm not getting paid as much. Plus... I don't DO anything for that job. So I can work another one and earn even more. :P

Anyways, we went to the store, I was in heaven... and torment as well, because I wanted to just buy out the whole place. We got all the stuff I needed to turn Tom into Sean Connery, and bought myself some foundation called "Death Blue/Gray." :)

My wedding dress came on Thursday evening, which I was thrilled about. I was even more thrilled when it actually fit. :P So then Friday after I got back from shopping, Mack and I spent several hours altering the dress. It had a 10 foot long train, so she bustled most of it up and made it 2 feet, and she also cut out a section of the train that had a lot of lace, then sewed it back up so you couldn't tell. Then she used the lace part to make a veil for me. We also made it a bit more modest (it had a lot of lace in the front, but was low cut, and there was no back), and then we cut off the sleeves and put a slit in the front to make it look like it'd torn.

And... that night we watched Gremlins over at Coventry. That was fun. I remember that movie scarring me when I was younger, but I thought it was hilarious now. :P Then Saturday rolled around and Somers, Krista, and I got up to watch a parade on Condo Row (which wasn't much of a parade, but it was still fun. There was a motorized couch. :P). And... then Krista, Somers, and Mal tried to learn the Thriller dance for a while, until Tom came over so that I could begin working on him.

It took a few hours, but it turned out really well. I was quite happy with how it turned out, especially since it was my first time making a beard. I just used black and gray crepe hair and applied it with spirit gum. And... then I began getting myself ready for the night, because my makeup took a while as well. I had to cover my arms, back, neck, and face with the death colored foundation :P It took a while, but I definitely looked deathly in the end. :P Then Somers, Matt, and I went trick-or-treating in the rich neighborhood in the hopes of getting bigger and better candy bars. :P

Not too many houses were answering the doors in that neighborhood, but we went to Brother McQuarrie's house (our second counselor in the bishopric last year), and he was so excited to see us that he invited us in for hot chocolate and toast, and we chatted for a good half hour or so. We didn't get too much trick-or-treating done, but it was still fun in the end.

And then my life got super boring. Because on Thursday at about 1 AM, I started having these abdominal pains on the right side. I didn't really pay attention to them much, but they lasted through the weekend, and Somers was afraid that I might have appendicitis, since I was also nauseous from it. Sunday was the worst, because apparently my body wasn't very happy that I'd gone trick-or-treating the night before and walked around so much. So Matt and Scott came over after church and gave me a blessing, and then Monday I missed class and went to the Health Center to get it checked out. The doctor thought it was just something small called mittelschmarz, and told me to stay home for the week. We scheduled another checkup for Friday, and for the rest of the week, I just stayed home, bored out of my mind. The most exciting thing I did was grocery shopping on Thursday night. :P

Then Friday rolled around, and the pain still wasn't gone. Matt took me to the Health Center, and the doctor told me that he wanted a CT scan done to see what was going on. So then Jordan drove me to the hospital, where I spent most of my day Friday. It wasn't really all that bad--truthfully, I don't really care about all these appointments and tests and whatnot. I actually found it kind of interesting, cause I was like, 'Well, now I know what it's like.' :P The only thing I DIDN'T like was the nasty imaging ink I had to drink for an hour. They mixed it with pineapple juice for me so that it would at least cover up SOME of the taste, but man, when I started the third cup, I was about ready to throw it all right back up. The last cup was the hardest, because A. it tasted nasty and B. I was soooo full. After 6 relatively large cups of pineapple juice mixed with nasty, I was super full. Then I had to sit for a half hour to let it settle, and then they finally came for me to do the scan.

And when I walked into the room with the machine, I felt like an uber dork. Because I immediately thought of Star Trek or pretty much any other space movie, and thought that the machine resembled one of those hyper-speed boosters that they use to launch spaceshuttles in the movies. :P And not only did I have to drink the imaging ink, they also gave me the IV with the ink in it to get it in my blood as well. That was... interesting. :P Matt and the nurse both warned me that it would feel like I'd peed my pants, but I didn't really get how it could feel like you'd peed your pants when you hadn't. Until they started the IV up and then I knew EXACTLY how it could feel like you had peed your pants. :P

All in all, I just found it pretty interesting. :P And, it turns out, it wasn't mittelschmarz. They said I have a small cyst, and that it should just go away on its own. If not, I'll have to come in again to have it removed, but it's not looking serious, which is good. So they've put me on the same meds I took for my wisdom teeth (but a smaller dose, thank goodness, because that other dosage made me so drowsy and dizzy :P). And... yeah. That's pretty much been my life. :P

Friday night after I was done with all the tests, Matt took me over to James' house (his old roommate who lives in the rich neighborhood) and we watched Valkyrie in his home theater. It was SO AMAZING! You could like, FEEL the explosions. His TV screen is about the size of our living room wall, and the surround sound is amazing. His house is huge, and I only saw the back part of it. :P

And then Saturday (yesterday), we had a light cleaning check, and then Somers and I painted a pinewood derby car with nail polish. :) The BYU vs. Wyoming game was yesterday, and so we watched that on our TV. We totally creamed them. It was only to be expected though. :P And... then Matt came over and we hung out for a bit... and later was the Pinewood Derby activity for our ward. Our car got last. Which we expected, because we didn't do anything to it except paint it. :P Afterwards, Matt and Scott came over and we watched Zoolander, which was awesome. Cause... I love that movie. :P

And... that's about it. Now it's Sunday, and... I don't think we really have much planned. I think we were going to watch Pretty in Pink at Coventry tonight... aaand... yup. That's about it. :)

I'm going to upload pictures in a separate post.

Makeup, Makeup, Makeup!

Hello!

Well, today is a GREAT day! The only thing that could make it better is if the wedding dress I bought off ebay came (which it won't... the mail already came for today). I'm really hoping it comes by Friday (or even Saturday afternoon) because I need to rip it up so I can be Emily from the Corpse Bride. :P

Well, it seems like lately all that's been on my mind is makeup, makeup, makeup. My makeup class is going fantastically well, I'm still loving it, and I just had my graded putty project (in which I turned myself into an elf). And since Halloween is coming up and people have SEEN me with my elf makeup, I've now gotten several requests to do Halloween makeup. I should charge them. :P My makeup teacher, Haleh, says that instead of charging, we should just make them buy the makeup for us and then keep it to build up our kits. Which is a fantastic idea. :)

So it looks like I'll be doing at least three of my roommates, as well as Nathan's roommate, Tom (whom I've never met, but we've now texted each other back and forth a million times to figure out what I'll be doing :P). He wants me to turn him into Sean Connery. So that'll be fun. :) Then I've got myself to do, so that makes a total of... 5 people to do on Halloween. Not bad... but I think I'll have a hard time getting my roommates to fork over the money to buy the makeup and then let me keep it. :P Then again, I don't really want to use my OWN makeup, because I'd like my kit to last me through all 3 makeup classes, and it takes quite a bit of makeup to do that many faces.

Anyways, so besides Halloween, I now have to start thinking of a design for my stylized project in class, in which I pretty much get to create my own character and go wild with the makeup. :P

Also, today I just found out that Disney hired me to work this summer at DisneyWorld as a Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique Hostess! (Try saying THAT ten times fast :P). So basically my job this summer is to turn little kids into princesses/princes. :) And... older people too, if they want. :P I saw a picture online of this guy who looked my age getting his hair braided and sprayed green. It... was kind of funny looking. He didn't look too happy, but his friends sure did. :P So I'll be working with makeup and hair this summer...

And then tomorrow night I get to register for my classes for next semester, and I'm signing up for the next makeup class, TMA 367, in which we get to do prosthetics. So we get to make molds of our faces so that we can totally alter them and turn ourselves into, say... orcs from lord of the rings. :)

Ah... today is a good day. :) I didn't even mind my biology class (which is my most hated class this semester) because I'd just found out I'd been hired. :) It's also started snowing, which is AWESOME! Yesterday it was the first snow in Provo, and today it's SUPER windy.

And tonight I'm going to the international cinema to see Vampyr. Hopefully Mal and Mack can come (although it's sounding like Mal's not gonna budge--she insists she has a ton of homework :P). So it may just end up being Matt and me. But I think Mack might come... depends on how late she and Krista get back from the Temple.

Last night, Mal, Mack, and I went to see Nosferatu in the international cinema, and MAN was that a snore! I swear, there was a ten minute shot of the sky turning to night. I slept through a lot of it. :P

As for the weekend... well, a lot of what we had planned didn't happen. At least not for Somers and I. We went with Matt and Scott to watch The Prestige in their tent, but it ended up being so noisy over there (people started up a game of football in the deserted parking lot, right next to their tent), so we watched it in Scott's car (which was CRAMPED. but it was a good thing we moved there, because it ended up raining. :P). By the time the movie ended (or rather, by the time my computer died, which was at the most CRUCIAL scene! :P), it was already 2:30. Somers was so loopy and out of it that she got herself wedged in the small space between the back seat and the front seats on the floor. :P So that took some time, waiting for her to get herself out of there. So by the time we got back home, it was 3 AM (which last year was nothing, but this year... man. We're like old timers by 3 AM :P), and we just collapsed. We decided there was no way we were going to be able to wake up in 3 hours to go plant bulbs in Temple Square, so we slept till 9, then got up and started immediately cleaning till 10. Then we both collapsed on the couches and fell asleep, only to be woken by a canon shot near our apartment. Apparently the homecoming parade was happening on the street that crosses ours, so they were like, right outside our window. :P Unfortunately, there were trees blocking the way, so we could only HEAR them. Which made us extremely jealous for all the people out there watching the parade, while we were inside, looking like death, waiting for our cleaning check to happen.

Eventually we made breakfast and invited Scott and Matt over (since they hadn't eaten and had gotten less sleep than us), and after a nice pancake and egg breakfast, we all picked a couch and promptly fell asleep. It was like a group nap time. :P It was the first time I really noticed how many couches we have (three), because we each got our own couch, except Matt, who was in my chair, which is still comfy, but he ended up moving to the floor to sleep because his neck brace was bothering him in the chair. :P And... we all just passed out immediately. Then we were all startled awake by Scott's phone ringing, and Jordan showed up and we all just kind of dozed off/mumbled to each other/stared off into space. We were really out of it. :P

Then later that night was the homecoming game (which was ABISMAL!). Mack, Matt, and I ended up leaving at the beginning of the 4th quarter because it was so awful. Also, it was really cold. Aaaand... then... that night Somers and I went to Coventry and we watched Drag Me To Hell (which sounds way worse than it is. It's SUPER funny :P It's a horror comedy done by the guy who made the Spiderman movies, and it's basically about this girl who's been cursed by some old gypsy woman because she denied her a loan at the bank :P).

Then Sunday was... well, Sunday. I went over to Coventry that night and watched The Last Starfighter with Scott, Jordan, and Matt, which was fun. It's a super cheesy 80s space movie, which was awesome. It's about this guy who lives in a trailer park and beats this game called Starfighter, which turns out to be this like, initiation test to become a real intergalactic starfighter. :P

And... then... what I've already said from earlier this week. And... now apparently I'm going shopping with Tom (the guy I've never met) on Friday to get all the makeup I need to turn him into Sean Connery... and... yeah. I'm still not sure what our Halloween plans are... as far as I know, we HAVE none. :P All I know is that I'm helping people get READY for Halloween. :P I think we talked about going trick-or-treating around the residential area in Provo, cause we really want free candy. :P

Anyways, I think that's about it. I'll update again later when I have more news :)

Busy Busy Busy!!!

Hallo!

Well, I may not have time to finish everything I want to say in this post because we've got a busy weekend ahead of us! But I shall try. :)

I'm off the pain meds for my teeth (whoohoo!) and then promptly got sick. Boo... :P But it wasn't too bad, just a bad cold, not the swine flu or anything, so no worries. I could still pretty much function (except in the mornings, because those are hard enough when I'm NOT sick :P), but I had a couple professors tell me to stay home, just in case. So lately I haven't been going to classes much, only a few. With half the school sick, professors are a lot more willing to keep you out of the class and help you make up your work later. :P

The Coventry boys have been watching movies in preparation for Halloween, so we've watched the House on Haunted Hill, Dracula (the old black and white from like, the 50s), Psycho, etc. Tonight we're going to try to watch Ringu, the Japanese movie that inspired The Ring (which was a JOKE. I laughed through that entire movie :P). The International Cinema is playing a bunch of movies for Halloween, so that's where we're gonna try to go tonight. They're also showing Nosferatu next week, along with Let the Right One In and Vampyr. And we watched Haunting In Connecticut (which was disappointing... I'd heard it was pretty scary but ended up thinking of a Book of Mormon lesson I had last semester in the middle of it... you know it's a badly made movie when it can make me start thinking of gospel lessons in the middle :P). We're wanting to watch the Sixth Sense sometime this weekend, but we'll see if THAT happens, what with everything else we have going on.

Also, Matt (from Coventry), got his halo off! I can't remember if I mentioned his halo... well, he broke his neck at Lake Powell this summer and had to wear one of those huge metal braces that's like, screwed into his head. And he just got it off this past Monday! He looks really different with it off, which is funny, cause... it's not like it blocked his face or anything. :P But now he just has to wear a small neckbrace (which he can remove) for another 3 weeks or so and then he's all set. He's got four little red scars, two on either temple and then the other two on the back of his head, where they screwed the brace in. He showed us the screws they used, and WOW they're sharp! He also said they didn't give him anything for pain when they took the screws out and that it didn't hurt, but he could feel them twisting the screws and could feel it in his head. Blech... so weird. :P But he's happy he gets to take showers and wear shirts he can pull over his head and rinse his mouth in the sink again. Oh, and turn his head. That's a big one. :P

Aaaand... oh, for our Activities Committee, we have this ongoing competition right now that's pretty fun. It's a pumpkin stealing contest. Everyone was given two small pumpkins, and the objective is to steal the pumpkins from other apartments and have the most pumpkins in the end. Whomever wins gets a $100 gift card to a restaurant, second is $50, and third... gets... $25 I think? Or maybe it's just candy. :P Anyways, its pretty fun. Unfortunately... both of ours got stolen like, ASAP. So.... we have none now. :P One was by my VISITING TEACHERS. So mean... I was lulled into a false sense of security, thinking they were being all good and nice, teaching me a lesson and chatting... and then as they're leaving they just snatch it and run! And the other was taken by one of Sarah's friends, Trevor. I don't know HOW he got it out, because we had it tied to our spice rack, but somehow he managed to get it out and run in the few seconds we had our backs turned.

And... well, that's about all I can remember for now :P This weekend is going to be a lot of fun. But we've got so much planned that now we have to pick and choose, and decide which things we'd rather do, which is kinda sad, cause we want to do it ALL! :)

We're going to celebrate Julie's birthday belatedly today. We've all been super busy and haven't had a chance to get together to have a party, so we're going to do that. And we also want to see Ringu tonight, which is in the International Cinema (which... I said earlier, I believe). And then there's ALSO the ESPN College Game Day going on tomorrow morning, and people are camping out (in tents and everything) in front of the football stadium so they can be on TV, and the Coventry boys are one of them. They have a 10 person tent, so tonight they're going to watch a bunch of movies in the tent while they camp out and we're also wanting to go watch with them. They ALSO may have an extra tent for us, so we might end up camping out tonight too. Apparently this is the first time in forever that ESPN has held the College Game Day thing here at BYU. And then for tomorrow, not only is there the ESPN broadcast, there's ALSO a service activity our ward is doing at Temple Square, planting bulbs, which we've been planning to do since they announced it. But that and the ESPN broadcast are at the same time... so... we don't know what we're going to do. And then tomorrow is also Homecoming, and its the big game against TCU who totally crushed us in a humiliating game last year, so we'll see how THAT turns out. And ALSO tomorrow, is Dark Water, another Japanese film being shown in the International Cinema that we've been wanting to see. We've heard that one is pretty scary too, so we wanted to go.

Sigh... so many opportunities! We still don't know WHAT we're going to do. I believe Jordan is picking up a tent from his house for us right now, so we could do that... but we just have to decide whether or not we want to camp out or go plant bulbs... which... they do that every year, but not ESPN... but Somers and Mack won't be here next fall, so they won't be able to plant bulbs... Sigh. We don't know. :P

Speaking of them not being here, it's so sad! We all just recently realized that next year, it'll probably just be me, Mal, and Krista during the fall. McKenzie will most likely be serving a mission by then (crazy!) and Somers wants to study abroad in Italy next fall. So she'll come back in the winter, but... I dunno. She may not get to room with us because its just the winter semester and not fall. So we'll see. But yeah, chances are it'll just be the three of us next year. Sad. :(

Uhm... well, it's getting chillier here, which I love. It's been hot for FAR too long. :) Everyone gets mad at me when I start cheering for the overcast weather outside though :P It's still pretty warm--most of the time you can walk outside in either a REALLY light jacket or a 3/4 length sleeve. Unless you're just a space heater like Mack, and then you can walk out in shorts and a t-shirt, but that's just her. :P But I'm excited to bring out my winter wardrobe--most of my clothes are still in boxes shoved under my bed or in the storage closet because I have too many to fit in my closet and I haven't needed any winter clothes yet. A few weeks ago it snowed on the mountains behind us, and it's rained a few times on campus, but it always clears up and gets sunny again. Today's a pretty nice day--its sunny, but there's a cold wind, which I like. :)

Anyways, I think that's about everything... my makeup class is going really well. We've finished middle age makeup, and now we're working with putty to make fake ears, noses, chins, etc. Or wounds. Half the class is doing wounds and the other half is doing more fantasy-type makeup. Of course, I'm in the fantasy half. :P So for my graded project, I'm making myself an elven princess (which you can see pictures of on Facebook... but that's not the final product. I only have one ear done in that, and I'm going to do my eyes differently). Its fun though. I get to block out my eyebrows (which actually hurt quite a bit... you have to use a glue stick to glue your eyebrows down flat and then cover them with makeup). I get a LOT of weird stares when I walk back from class lately. :P I'm either old or... have scary, ridiculously high and pointy eyebrows and one pointed elf ear... One guy made my day though. Everyone was doing that awkward "stare and look away quickly when you're caught" thing, and this one guy, he glanced at me and kept walking, then totally stopped and did this dramatic double-take. Then he gave me this huge grin and two thumbs up. I was like, thank you, random person, for openly acknowledging I look like a freak today! :) It made me happy. I was smiling the whole way home and continuing to get weird stares. :P

It's cool because I'm doing the makeup for the Pardoe theater, so it has to be seen 30 feet away, so it's more dramatic than for film. So from far away, I made it so that my face is narrower and pointier, and that my nose is a lot thinner, and I also changed the shape of my lips. I blocked out parts of my bottom lip and made it smaller and thinner. It's.... pretty cool. Not gonna lie. :P My face looks so much angular when you look at it from 30 feet away with that makeup on. Very elf-ish. :P

Anyways, Somers and I are going to head out to get some ice cream! Whoo! I'll update again later when I have more to say :)

See ya!

Drugs and Fun Times

Hello!

Well, I realize it's been a while since I last updated and I apologize... but I've been so out of it lately that if I had posted, chances are none of you would understand it. :P

Well, it's Conference weekend, which is always fun around here. Since everyone and their dog watches Conference, we usually have a big group of us. We've been switching back and forth between our apartment and Coventry 1 (with the 42" tv), and yesterday we were in charge of breakfast and today they made it. So yesterday Matt, Jordan, and Scott came over and we had french toast while we watched the first session, then we watched the second session over at their place. Today Scott made biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs and bacon, and we watched the first session there and came back to our place for the second session.

Well, let's see, I guess I'll do this chronologically... :P

So two weeks ago I got my wisdom teeth removed. That was fun. :P And by fun, I mean, it actually was kinda fun. :) Definitely was a cause for a lot of entertaining moments. Also, I thought it was kinda cool when they gave me that nose thing that blows out oxygen so you breathe... like in hospitals. I was like, whoa! I've never gotten to wear one of these before! :) Next thing I know I'm in a wheelchair and the nurse is trying to help me step off the curb and get into Somers' car. :P

As far as the pain goes, it actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting. What I WASN'T expecting, though, was the toll the medication would take on me. They gave me hydrocodone, which gave me NO sense of balance, made me SUPER drowsy, and made me kind of incoherent and delirious. So all that week, I laid on our couch in the living room, watching tv and slipping in and out of consciousness. I went stir crazy, that's for sure, but I was so dizzy and drowsy I couldn't really do much other than lie there. All of my professors were really relaxed about it and let me off for the week, so that was good. I didn't even have to really do much makeup work. :)

I DID go to the football game the day after the surgery though. :P It was the BYU vs. Oklahoma game, which I wanted to see. So I went to the game, but I had taken some hydrocodone just before leaving and by the time we got to the game, it kicked in, and I got really drowsy and was practically falling asleep on the bleachers. :P I ended up leaving at half time and went home to sleep. :)

Thankfully I didn't swell very much. There was just minor swelling, but you couldn't even really tell unless you KNEW I'd gotten my wisdom teeth out. Now I'm off of the hydrocodone, but I occasionally take over the counter stuff because I have a dry socket... which is no fun, but oh well. I'm back to eating solids (somewhat... softer solids :P). Originally all I was eating was microwavable mashed potatoes. Let me tell you, I NEVER want to eat those again. Blech. After eating them for a week straight (with an occasional bowl of mac 'n cheese or some pistachio pudding :P), I am DONE with fake mashed potatoes. :)

Hm... what else? Well, last night during the Priesthood session, Somers, Mal, and I went out to dinner. We got all dressed up and went to Shoots (the restaurant the Chaos used to own), which was really good. Then we came back and watched Wolverine at Coventry 1. Tonight we'll probably head back over to Coventry 1 for another movie, cause they have Sunday Night Movies. :P They've been doing old horror movies since it's now October, so the other day we watched House on Haunted Hill with the commentary by some guy from Mystery Science Theater. It was really funny. We were laughing pretty much the whole time, because, well, you can't help but laugh at the old black and white horror films. They're just so cheesy! :) Especially with the commentary--he would point out all of the obvious "no duh" moments in the movie. :P

Mal and I have also been taking advantage of the International Cinema. We never went last year, but this year we discovered just how awesome it is. It's free and they show international movies during the week. We went and saw Pan's Labyrinth a while ago, which was really good, and we just saw Crossing, which was a Korean film. That one was really good too, but really depressing... It's one of those ones that tried to portray how hard life is in North Korea and the struggles they have with the government and trying to escape and stuff. Definitely a downer, but really good. It kind of reminded me of Seven Pounds, with how it's such a good movie but leaves you horribly sad. :P

We also know our FHE group now. We've only had two FHEs together, but I really like our group. Somers is our FHE Mom, and a guy named Steven is our dad. All of the people in our group are really cool and nice, lots of fun to hang out with. Sarah already knows some of them from the ward from spring/summer, but most of them are new. One guy is actually the older brother of someone Krista went to high school with, which is kind of funny.

Anyways, I think that's about it... my makeup class is still my favorite :) It's going great. We just did our glamour makeup section, and next we're moving onto middle age, which should be fun. I tend to look freakish while walking home from that class. :P The best was our practice day for glamour makeup because we all did half of our face one way and the other half another way. :)

I uploaded a bunch of pictures, so here you go :)

My super long fake eyelashes from makeup. They were like fly-swatters on my eyes. Julie's brother, Nathan, first thought they were my real eyelashes and was like, "That's so cool! Your eyelashes are so LONG!" He was disappointed to find out they weren't real. :P
You can't really see it... but this was my glamour makeup for the De Jeong Concert Hall. You're supposed to be able to see it from 90 feet away. I managed to change the shape of my nose and make my cheeks a little narrower, which you can't tell in this picture. :P

This is the BYU vs. Utah State game that happened this past Friday night. It was REALLY cold. :)
Mack's a weirdo. :P
That's not some random guy making faces at us... :P That's Tygen, Somers' cousin. He sits with us at football games.
Julie, Alan, and Nathan's tickets happened to have seats right next to ours for the BYU vs. Oklahoma game, so we all got to sit with each other. :) Also, this was the day after my wisdom teeth were removed, so in all of the pictures of me, I look kind of out of it. :) I couldn't smile very wide and I definitely look like I'm on drugs. :)
Mack said something funny and I started laughing hysterically. The hydrocodone made me delirious and I was super giggly the entire time I was taking it. :P
Yeah... I could NOT get a good picture of myself with Krista. :P

Somers looks so cute and I... look so out of it... :P
Once again... Mack is a weirdo. :P
BYU vs. Oklahoma.
Alan was my male model for makeup when I was doing male corrective youth makeup. I did his makeup for the Margettes theater, which is like the equivalent of film makeup. It's super light and has to be natural looking if you're just standing there talking to each other. I think I did a pretty decent job :) Basically I just had to get rid of the redness in his skin (which he has a LOT of) and then I defined his nose, cheek bones, and jaw :)
We had a half-birthday celebration for Sarah, Jason, and Mal. Originally it was supposed to be a competition to see who could make the biggest ice cream cone, but that didn't work very well. :P So we gave them scoops of ice cream and shoved a bunch of candles in them. :P Oh, and Jason is from Windsor Arms 10. He's Mack's home teacher, and he and Joel (his roommate) hang out with us frequently.
Julie and Alan's wedding! She looked so pretty :)
They had to sit there posing while kissing for a while so people could take pictures :P
The front of her dress :)Julie and her parents...
The two of them coming out of the temple. We watched like, four other couples come out first, and Julie and Alan definitely looked the happiest. :)

Well, I think that's about all! I'll update again when I have more to say :)

Week Three!

Hello!

Well, it's week three of classes starting tomorrow, and I figured I should update on what's been going on. :)

Last Saturday was the huge Oklahoma vs. BYU football game. Now, mind you, there are a few things you should know to begin with-- Oklahoma was ranked 3rd, and BYU was ranked 20th. We had absolutely NO hope of winning this game. We were expecting a dismal defeat, a major killing on the field. But as the game went on and BYU managed to keep up, we all began to wonder if we really could win the game. And then, right at the end, a miracle happened! We managed to score one more point than the other team, bringing it to a total of 14 to 13. And with 20 seconds left to go on the clock, OU gave up, and we won the game.

Now, for the first half of the game, Somers, Sarah, and I were watching the game on these huge projector screens in the Wilk. There were probably close to a thousand people all jam-packed into the ballroom, watching the game on these giant screens. However, we had no seats because we got there a bit late, and so we left to watch it on our wonderful TV back home where we could have front row seats on comfy chairs and couches. By this time, our voices were already hoarse from screaming our heads off every time BYU managed to make a comeback. So back home, we're still shouting at the top of our lungs. And then the game ends and we're stunned. We're shouting and screaming and jumping up and down. We can hear the people in the apartment above us doing the same thing, jumping up and down on our ceiling. And then we finally calm down, sprawled across the couches, and sit in silence, listening to the roar of the crowd on the TV. And then we start to realize that the roar isn't just coming from the TV. It's coming from outside our windows (which are all open because it's still ridiculously hot here). So we open our front door and it's like a wave of sound that hits us, this mass of people pouring out of the apartments around us, shouting at the top of their lungs. And from our balcony, we can see all the buildings that make up our ward, and we see that at Windsor Arms (one of the boys' apartments) there is this mass congregation in the street of people cheering. So we run over to Windsor Arms and join the crowd, cheering and dancing and screaming at the top of our lungs. People open up their car doors and blast music, some people set off fireworks, and everyone is chanting and cheering like there's no tomorrow. It was awesome.

And then this mass of people decides to move the celebration elsewhere--namely, the streets of Provo. So this huge mass of people begins running through the neighborhood, cheering and disturbing anyone who was silly enough to try to sleep that night. We made it out onto a busier road and obstructed traffic, shouting at all the cars as they all shouted out their windows, cheering and honking their horns. Then the mass decides to run up to Brigham Square on campus, so these people book it for campus up a giant hill (since we're on the low end). They run through the Wilk, shouting, and then decide to run to the Victory Bell. By this time, I was far too tired and knew that the partying would go on all night, so I headed back to my apartment to change into proper shoes (flip flops are not the best for running in).

Not too much later, Somers and Mack appear back at the apartment and say that there's a huge dance party in the street on Condo Row. So we book it for Condo Row and see that there's a ton of people in the street, still cheering and dancing. We join in and it's all good and fun, until someone crowd surfing falls into someone else, who then proceeds to hit his head on the concrete and pass out.

Instant kill to the party, of course. What amazed me was how quickly everyone quieted down, and then how quickly we heard the call "Who has oil? Who can give a blessing right now?" And then a few guys step forward and proceed to give this guy a blessing. So this mass of people is all silent in the street with folded arms and bowed heads as these two young men give him a blessing and another girl is on the phone calling an ambulance. The ambulance shows up a minute later and everyone watches as this guy is taken off.

Of course, no one feels like resuming the celebrations now. Everyone feels awful for what happened and everyone's worried about the nameless guy. There are still fireworks going off everywhere, and we can hear other people shouting around Provo, horns honking, etc. But this mass of people is silent, and then, one brave soul decides to step forward...

And proceeds to play Amazing Grace on the bagpipes.

The mass of people laughs hysterically, because the idea of some guy playing BAGPIPES at that moment is just too funny. So the mood is lightened thanks to this guy and then everyone decides to start an impromptu march, with the bagpipes in front. So we begin this procession down the streets, following the bagpiper playing Praise to the Man. And then we hit 9th.

Now, 9th is pretty busy. I mean, it's the street that the Creamery is on, and it's a pretty big road. When we get there, there's a gap in traffic because they're all stopped at the traffic lights. So the bagpiper and a few in the front decide, "Quick! Let's run out on 9th before the cars get a green light!" So they do. And so does the rest of this mass. And so there's a huge congregation of people + a bagpiper in the middle of 9th, all cheering. The cars, of course, take it good naturedly and honk back, cheering out their open windows. We eventually decide to stop obstructing the traffic and move onto the sidewalk, still chanting and cheering. We run through apartment complexes, and eventually end up at some dance party at an apartment. The mass of people decides to crash the party, which the people throwing it have no objection to, and this mass dance party ensues for several hours.

It's then announced that the football team will be arriving at the Provo Airport at 2 AM, and we're all going to go greet them. So we head back to our apartments to await 2 AM, and then we head off. There's a new mass of people there, all cheering as the football team gets off the plane, and they give us all high fives. It was pretty awesome.

By the time we get to bed, it's about 3 AM and we're exhausted. We'd officially had about 7 straight hours of celebration. Our throats are protesting from all the screaming we've done, and our bodies are begging for sleep. So we conk out immediately, and are extremely grateful the next day that church starts at 1. :P

Sunday night we had a dessert social, the ward activity that has replaced last year's ward prayer. We met a few people, and it was the first night I actually remembered people's names. :P We met an apartment of guys that seems pretty nice, and they invited us over to watch a movie. So Somers and I went over and we watched Indiana Jones on their huge TV. One of the guys brought a surround system, a subwoofer, and a HUGE tv. So it pretty much felt like all those arrows were whistling past us. :P

Then Monday was Labor Day, so no school. Somers, Mal, and Mack went to Payson to watch a parade, but I stayed behind because I was utterly exhausted and had a lot of homework to catch up on. That night we watched a movie and just had fun with our last night before classes started up again.

As for classes... well, I anticipate I'll hate biology, but that was no surprise. I dropped my Modern American Usage class because after attending it for a while, I realized that there was no way I'd be able to pass this class with the professor I had. He doesn't explain things at ALL and I was already lost on the first day, which... isn't a good sign. So I dropped that, which means I now have no Friday classes (which my roommates are all very jealous of :P). I've added a Creative Writing class, which I think I'm going to love a lot. My teacher isn't a professor, he's a grad student, and so he's very personable and funny. He's more focused on us just having FUN writing rather than producing writing that's worthy of being nationally acclaimed. Of course, he encourages us to do our best and expects our best, but it's more about just enjoying what you're writing about and exploring your creativity. Which I like. We do a lot of in class examinations on our own papers. So we bring in our work for the rest of the class to read and they critique it. So... half of our required reading is from the class itself.

My favorite class is, of course, Makeup. Tomorrow we start actually working with it. It's our first practice day, and we're doing Youth Male Corrective Makeup. Which means I have today to find someone to be my male model to work on. :P I'm hoping my home teachers come visit today so that when they ask "Is there anything we can do for you?" I can say "Why yes, actually, there IS something you could do for me!" We received our makeup kits on Wednesday, and it was so cool! There's all sorts of fun stuff in there, like stage blood and spirit gum (which you use to make wrinkles and stuff). Haleh, the teacher, is really cool. She's also a grad student, and she's a lot of fun. Every time I walk in class she always compliments me on my hair or my makeup, which, of course, just makes me want to look my best for that class every day. :P Of course, once we start the practice and graded days doing makeup on ourselves I'm going to have to come in with no makeup on and my hair completely pulled back. :P

I love New Testament. I'm pretty sure I already said I have Brother Parker again, whom I took Book of Mormon 2 from last year, and I loved him. He's been one of my favorite professors so far. One of my favorite quotes from him is "Don't be a spiritual couch potato." :P He's been a lot happier since Brother Matthews funeral. I think it gave him the closure he needed, and now he's back to his old self, which is good. It was sad seeing him so depressed.

Chum is pretty good too. I'm expecting I'll like that class quite a bit, and my professor is the head of the Editing minor, so he knows a lot about what I'm going to have to be doing. I'm probably going to end up taking a lot of classes from him in the future.

I've been pretty tired this past week. Both Krista and I have no energy whatsoever. We're wondering if we've caught something, because it's not that we're TIRED and aren't getting enough sleep (because, I know this is surprising, but I go to bed around 11:30 every night now and wake up around 8 or 9). We're just PHYSICALLY exhausted. No energy to do anything. So hopefully we'll both get some of our energy back this week, but last week was hard. We'd both come home from class and just collapse on the couch for a while.

I've seen James a few times. I mean, he's in my bio class, but I've seen him outside class too. I went over to his apartment on Thursday with Somers so I could take a picture of a bio project we were doing (we have to send pictures of us with the experiment for documentation) and we chatted for a bit. He seems to be doing well.

I saw Allison Mitton walking across campus the other day but was in a rush, so I didn't get a chance to say hi to her. James told me that Meghan is now at BYU too, which surprised me. I thought she was younger, but I guess not. Apparently she's now here. I haven't seen her yet, and I don't know that if I did I would even recognize her. :P James also told me that Christina... oh, I can't remember her last name. But they lived in the Adams-harts old house next door to where the Thompsons now live. Anyways, Christina's engaged now, apparently.

Well, I should probably end this. We've got to head off to church soon. It's so weird having church so late... we get out at FOUR now. Which makes Sundays seem a lot shorter. Today will be busy because we've got a CES fireside at 6, and then the dessert night at 8. And then homework. Whoo! (Actually, I don't think I really have any... I think I just have a little reading to do and then I'm done :P)

I'll try to post pictures next time. I've got a bunch of pictures from Julie's wedding and some pictures of the football team at the airport. :) Till next time!

YEAH!!!!

Two words:

GO BYU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

We beat OU (who is ranked THIRD, in case you didn't know. And we're TWENTIETH) and now everyone is partying in the streets, setting off fireworks, etc. It's awesome. We've been running all over Provo obstructing traffic for the past four hours. And at 2 AM we're all meeting at the Provo airport to greet the team as they get off the plane. :P

BYU IS SO AWESOME!!! :D

I'll post more later. But for now, I'm going to go have a bit more fun. :D

Back to School

Hello!

Yes, I know it's been a while since I've written. Ah well. I'm back at school now, all moved into my apartment. I have a new roommate named Sarah, and she's really nice. She's a junior this year, and she was in the ward this past spring/summer, so she already knows a bunch of people in our ward.

We're in the 63rd ward now, in the 2nd stake. It's different being in a regular student ward. Today was our first Sunday in there. We didn't really get a chance to meet many people since it WAS a Sunday and, well, there was class. :P I only really met one person, some guy sitting next to me during relief society/priesthood (they were combined today), named Aaron who is studying Economics and Japanese. I was just excited about the Japanese part. :P

I really like our new apartment. There's so much more space than last year, we have a LIVING ROOM for once, and we've got an extra freezer, which has come in handy because we've now had two birthdays and have used that freezer for ice cream and ice cream cakes. :P It's feeling much homier than last year, mainly because of the living room. :P And we also have a lot of pictures and artwork up, so that helps make it feel more like a home. :P The AWESOME TV also helps A LOT. :) We've made good use of it already (thanks Mom and Dad). Everyone loves my chair and I rarely get to sit in it now because someone else will claim it first. :P Mack also brought another couch that's really comfy, so now we've got three couches and a chair. LOTS of seating in our living room. :) And surprisingly enough, we managed to fit everything in there.

It's been REALLY hot here. It's just miserable to go outside, so we spend a lot of time just lying around the apartment in shorts and tank tops with all the windows open to get a little bit of a breeze. We keep our windows open all night and in the morning, which is proving to be a problem with SOUND at night and early in the morning, because our windows all open up into the back parking lot of a thai restaurant and a bookstore/frozen yogurt shop. So every night, there are a bunch of guys being super loud down there, and in the morning, some guy who works at the bookstore pulls his truck up and blasts music while he's inside the building. So we're woken up by loud music every morning. Whoopee. We're hoping it doesn't continue forever.

Classes start tomorrow, something NONE of us are happy about. I'm dreading most of my classes, just because I've got stuff like Biology... Modern American Usage Linguistics (aka Grammer. blech.), British Literary History... yeah. Not too fun. The only classes I'm really looking forward to are my Makeup 1 class, New Testament (I have the same professor that I had last semester, and he's awesome), and Print Publishing. Books for this year were murder... I had to spend over $300 dollars this year, which I think is more than I spent last year on books for each semester. I ended up buying a couple off amazon and from the bookstore next door because they were like, $20 cheaper, so I have to return some of my books. I was looking through my Stage Makeup book though, and it looks so cool! I'm really excited for this class. Hopefully it turns out to be really good. I'm expecting it will be, the only thing I'm not too happy about is the time. I have it from 4 pm to 6:30. So... late class. My schedule this year leaves much to be desired, seeing as I end around 6:30/7 every day except Friday. But oh well. Not much I can do about it. A lot of my classes were only offered at one time, so... I didn't have much choice.

Julie and Alan were married last Tuesday, and she looked positively beautiful in her dress. We were waiting for them outside the temple, and they were radiating with happiness. I don't think I've seen two happier people. Even the other couples coming out before them didn't look as happy. The reception was small and cute--perfect for what they were wanting. They came out of the temple around 2ish, and the reception was at 7, so we had a lot of time to wander around Salt Lake City. We spent most of our time at the Gateway, making fools of ourselves in the old train station or whatever it was. It's completely empty and super big, and the tiniest sound echoes. And it also happens to remind us of Anastasia, so we were twirling in circles and singing Once Upon a December. We're pretty sure that the security guards watching the cameras turned on the music in there to shut us up and make us leave. :P

We've been living like the poor college students we are, eating as little as possible to make the food last longer and spending next to nothing. Once we all paid for our books and saw our bank accounts drop dismally low we were all like: That's IT. We're not buying ANYTHING ELSE. :) Mal was able to get hired at the McDonald's here though (she worked at one in Minnesota over the summer), so she has a job. And I was doing some job searching, and one day I was sitting there and was like. Alright. Today I WILL find myself a job! And after searching and searching for hours for a job on campus that worked with my class schedule and finding nothing but football game food hawker openings, I got an email from my old supervisor for my LCC tutoring, asking if I would like to continue tutoring this semester because the University of Hong Kong decided to continue the program this year. So I promptly replied: YES I WANT THE JOB! So. I now have a job. That I didn't have to apply for, I don't have to go through the screening process for, and that I have to do little work for. Whoohoo! So I've got my old job back, it's high paying and little work, and PERFECT! So I'm just waiting until I can get my first paycheck and slowly start seeing my bank account rise again after that huge hit it took from books. :P

And... I just discovered that I have to spend about another $100 because I added my print publishing class AFTER I bought my other books, so now I have to buy some computer programs and stuff. Blech. Yeah. I can't wait for my first paycheck. :P

But I'm pretty much set on food for like... months. So... I guess that means I don't have to spend very much money in that department. :P

Well, I think that's about all for now. I'll update again later once more happens and I actually have something to say. :P

Pictures

Here's the pictures I promised :)

Mack and I were driving through Payson and saw this blue car... that has an AWESOME cougar and BYU painted on the sides. We were so excited we had to stop and take pictures. :)

Mack and I are her grandpa's house for the bonfire.
Mack was roasting a marshmellow over the small fire next to her grandpa's house.

This was the bonfire at Mack's grandparents' house.

These are pictures of our awesome tent fort that stayed up for a good two weeks in our kitchen. Pretty much all of the credit goes to Alan for the construction of it. :P

Somers and I after we went 80s dancing in Salt Lake. :)

We took roommate pictures, but it was raining outside, so we started dry with umbrellas... but we eventually gave up on that and just got wet. :P

Shooting:
Alan had this ugly Shrek baby thing he'd gotten in a claw machine, and he and Dustin shot it with the shotgun. It exploded all over the place. :P

Alan shooting...
McKenzie shooting...
Dustin looks pretty pro. :P I think he looks like he's advertising the gun or something.

This happened at Mack's house on our hobo day. Somers and Alan took turns pinning me down while the other drew on me. They made a little target for themselves and threw the pen at my leg to see if they could hit the bulls eye. :P
This was at the Creamery after we surrendered our keys. I was tired... so I wanted to take a nap in the booth.
Mack and the start of her hobo day :P
Our bonfire. Eric (a guy from our ward) made a ring of fire out of schoolwork. :P
Nate and Somers. Nate found a piece of wood and decided to make an Olympic torch out of it. Everyone passed it around for fun, but it kept going out, so he kept spraying it with lighter fluid. :P

Okay, these next pictures are from our Ward Movie Awards Night. We were supposed to dress up red carpet status. Our apartment took it to the next level... We decided to be the extremes. Mal and I were wash out celebs on their days off, looking weird and trying to blend in with the crowd. Krista went for a casual but dressy celeb look. Somers went for... the extreme celeb? Julie looked red carpet status... she was the only normal one out of us. :P Alan dressed pimp and dressy in a suit but casual with the sneakers and hat.

We also decided, after a few minutes of sitting at our table, that we were very different from every other table in the room. We decided that were we at a REAL celebrity banquet, we would be the table that appeared in the tabloids because they were loud, obnoxious, and embarrassing to everyone else. We decided to play it up and everyone took a picture of them as if they were a celebrity "drunk and embarrassing" :PMal's is my favorite. :)
Somers decided she would just be passed out.
Dustin was awesome. :P
I think McKenzie's comes in second for me.
Julie's is also really good... it may tie for second. :)
Alan just looked out of it... :P
Before we decided we'd be the embarrassing table of shunned celebs :P Notice Alan in the back--he's totally trying to copy my creeper face. I've made it my goal to appear in people's pictures in the background and look like a creeper. He did a pretty good job, but it still doesn't beat my best one. :P
I think Krista was going for a seductive look, but she ended up looking like she was going to cry. :P
McKenzie's dress was GORGEOUS. And Dustin looked sweet in a white suit. :)

Alan and I trying to do the Blue Steel/Le Tigre/Magnum look :P

Well, that's all the photos I have for now!
