Pictures

Here's some pictures from Halloween and makeup...
This was my practice makeup on Friday for Halloween. Mack had finished altering the dress, and I just did my face. Mal was a creepy marionette doll for Halloween.
The dead girl and the doll. :P
Mack told me that I looked like a punk bride with the ripped sleeves, so she told me to strike a rocker pose. It was only until later when we looked at the picture that we realized I was making the "I love you" sign in sign language. So... this picture says "I LOVE YOU!!!" :P Mack has officially decided she wants a wedding picture like this. :P
This was the dress BEFORE it was altered. 10 foot train. And the poofy sleeves are still attached. And the back is pretty low. :P
Matt didn't have a costume, and Somers' came with the Raggedy Andy one as well as Raggedy Ann, so we just made him put on the costume real quick and I drew a red triangle on his nose. Tada! Instant costume. :) I'm not quite sure why they were strangling each other though :P
This is actually on Friday. Mack had a date on Halloween and Mal had to work, so neither were going to get to celebrate Halloween. So they dressed up Friday for classes, and then Somers and I joined them later that night. :P Mack is Wednesday from the Adams Family, then Somers as Raggedy Ann, me as Emily from the Corpse Bride, and Mal as a creepy marionette.
This is Tom, Nathan's roommate. I had just applied the first layer of the beard. :)
And this is the finished product: a Sean Connery beard and grayed hair. :) I was going to age his face as well, but when we looked at the prices for the makeup I was going to need, we decided not to. He's a poor college student, after all. :P
This was just for fun one day. When Mack saw my middle aged makeup, she wanted me to do hers as well. So one random weekend I turned her into an old lady. I think it turned out pretty well. :)

And that's all for now!

Hola

Hello!

Well, a lot and nothing has happened this past week. :P I'll just pick up with where I left off last time, shall I?

On Friday, Tom came and picked Mal and me up and we went over to Taylor Maid. I love that store. I've decided I want to work there next semester. I'd been thinking I should probably work two jobs for next semester, cause this tutoring one I have is only 10 hours a week, so I'm not getting paid as much. Plus... I don't DO anything for that job. So I can work another one and earn even more. :P

Anyways, we went to the store, I was in heaven... and torment as well, because I wanted to just buy out the whole place. We got all the stuff I needed to turn Tom into Sean Connery, and bought myself some foundation called "Death Blue/Gray." :)

My wedding dress came on Thursday evening, which I was thrilled about. I was even more thrilled when it actually fit. :P So then Friday after I got back from shopping, Mack and I spent several hours altering the dress. It had a 10 foot long train, so she bustled most of it up and made it 2 feet, and she also cut out a section of the train that had a lot of lace, then sewed it back up so you couldn't tell. Then she used the lace part to make a veil for me. We also made it a bit more modest (it had a lot of lace in the front, but was low cut, and there was no back), and then we cut off the sleeves and put a slit in the front to make it look like it'd torn.

And... that night we watched Gremlins over at Coventry. That was fun. I remember that movie scarring me when I was younger, but I thought it was hilarious now. :P Then Saturday rolled around and Somers, Krista, and I got up to watch a parade on Condo Row (which wasn't much of a parade, but it was still fun. There was a motorized couch. :P). And... then Krista, Somers, and Mal tried to learn the Thriller dance for a while, until Tom came over so that I could begin working on him.

It took a few hours, but it turned out really well. I was quite happy with how it turned out, especially since it was my first time making a beard. I just used black and gray crepe hair and applied it with spirit gum. And... then I began getting myself ready for the night, because my makeup took a while as well. I had to cover my arms, back, neck, and face with the death colored foundation :P It took a while, but I definitely looked deathly in the end. :P Then Somers, Matt, and I went trick-or-treating in the rich neighborhood in the hopes of getting bigger and better candy bars. :P

Not too many houses were answering the doors in that neighborhood, but we went to Brother McQuarrie's house (our second counselor in the bishopric last year), and he was so excited to see us that he invited us in for hot chocolate and toast, and we chatted for a good half hour or so. We didn't get too much trick-or-treating done, but it was still fun in the end.

And then my life got super boring. Because on Thursday at about 1 AM, I started having these abdominal pains on the right side. I didn't really pay attention to them much, but they lasted through the weekend, and Somers was afraid that I might have appendicitis, since I was also nauseous from it. Sunday was the worst, because apparently my body wasn't very happy that I'd gone trick-or-treating the night before and walked around so much. So Matt and Scott came over after church and gave me a blessing, and then Monday I missed class and went to the Health Center to get it checked out. The doctor thought it was just something small called mittelschmarz, and told me to stay home for the week. We scheduled another checkup for Friday, and for the rest of the week, I just stayed home, bored out of my mind. The most exciting thing I did was grocery shopping on Thursday night. :P

Then Friday rolled around, and the pain still wasn't gone. Matt took me to the Health Center, and the doctor told me that he wanted a CT scan done to see what was going on. So then Jordan drove me to the hospital, where I spent most of my day Friday. It wasn't really all that bad--truthfully, I don't really care about all these appointments and tests and whatnot. I actually found it kind of interesting, cause I was like, 'Well, now I know what it's like.' :P The only thing I DIDN'T like was the nasty imaging ink I had to drink for an hour. They mixed it with pineapple juice for me so that it would at least cover up SOME of the taste, but man, when I started the third cup, I was about ready to throw it all right back up. The last cup was the hardest, because A. it tasted nasty and B. I was soooo full. After 6 relatively large cups of pineapple juice mixed with nasty, I was super full. Then I had to sit for a half hour to let it settle, and then they finally came for me to do the scan.

And when I walked into the room with the machine, I felt like an uber dork. Because I immediately thought of Star Trek or pretty much any other space movie, and thought that the machine resembled one of those hyper-speed boosters that they use to launch spaceshuttles in the movies. :P And not only did I have to drink the imaging ink, they also gave me the IV with the ink in it to get it in my blood as well. That was... interesting. :P Matt and the nurse both warned me that it would feel like I'd peed my pants, but I didn't really get how it could feel like you'd peed your pants when you hadn't. Until they started the IV up and then I knew EXACTLY how it could feel like you had peed your pants. :P

All in all, I just found it pretty interesting. :P And, it turns out, it wasn't mittelschmarz. They said I have a small cyst, and that it should just go away on its own. If not, I'll have to come in again to have it removed, but it's not looking serious, which is good. So they've put me on the same meds I took for my wisdom teeth (but a smaller dose, thank goodness, because that other dosage made me so drowsy and dizzy :P). And... yeah. That's pretty much been my life. :P

Friday night after I was done with all the tests, Matt took me over to James' house (his old roommate who lives in the rich neighborhood) and we watched Valkyrie in his home theater. It was SO AMAZING! You could like, FEEL the explosions. His TV screen is about the size of our living room wall, and the surround sound is amazing. His house is huge, and I only saw the back part of it. :P

And then Saturday (yesterday), we had a light cleaning check, and then Somers and I painted a pinewood derby car with nail polish. :) The BYU vs. Wyoming game was yesterday, and so we watched that on our TV. We totally creamed them. It was only to be expected though. :P And... then Matt came over and we hung out for a bit... and later was the Pinewood Derby activity for our ward. Our car got last. Which we expected, because we didn't do anything to it except paint it. :P Afterwards, Matt and Scott came over and we watched Zoolander, which was awesome. Cause... I love that movie. :P

And... that's about it. Now it's Sunday, and... I don't think we really have much planned. I think we were going to watch Pretty in Pink at Coventry tonight... aaand... yup. That's about it. :)

I'm going to upload pictures in a separate post.
