Decisions!

Hello!

Well, I am officially DONE with classes!!! Woot! I've just got a weekend of finals left, and then I am done with my first year of college!

With the end comes a lot of decisions in terms of classes for next year, what I want to DO with my life, yada yada yada. And so I've made some big decisions. :)

Decision #1: I'm going to switch my major. Again. I realized that publishing editing just isn't something I'm passionate about anymore. Yeah, it sounded like a good idea to me at the time, but now that I'm here, it's not what I want to do. So I sat for, literally, HOURS on the computer, searching the other majors here. And I realized that BYU didn't have what I REALLY wanted, which is cosmetology. But I still want to go to BYU. So I was trying to figure out some sort of major I could take that would at least PUSH me in that general direction. Because my plan is to work at Disney World over the summers and hopefully get the cosmetology position there and work my way up, hopefully into the movie industry. And after many many hours of searching, I finally found the major I want. So. I am going to be a Theater Arts Education major. With this major, it gives me a background in not just makeup, but also costuming, directing, set construction, and a lot of other things that I think would really help me get into the business. I'm actually really excited about it. It's the only major where I actually think ALL of the classes will be fun, and its not like, a BOOKWORK major. It's mainly hands on. I even get to take a beginning stage combat class! :P With this major though, it's an education major, so it's not just theater in general, its how to TEACH theater, or certain aspects of it. Which... could really come in handy, I think. It makes it so that there's more options for me. So there's a few courses where I have to actually TEACH a class later on. But I think I'll really enjoy it.

Decision #2: I had to sign up for classes recently, and since I'm switching my major, I was kind of off track from my original plan. And if I had stuck with English anyways, it wouldn't have mattered, because the class I needed to take was full and at a time I couldn't take it anyways. :P So. Next semester, I'm taking two classes towards the Theater Arts Education major. Makeup 1 and Theater Production 1. Then I'm taking three GEs: Western Humanities 1, New Testament, and Principles of Biology. And then... there was NOTHING else I could take that would go towards anything useful. And so I did a lot of searching. And picked two fun classes so that I would be a full time student, and I'm planning on spending next semester working since my workload is bound to be light. So my two filler/fun classes are ice skating and bowling. :P Yeah. My schedule is PRETTY easy. Its only 12 credits for SEVEN classes. So I plan on just getting a job as well so that I can earn up some money while I've got an easy workload.

Decision #3: This was made a while ago, actually, but I don't think I ever talked about it. So classes are over, and I have to move out by next Saturday. But I'm planning on staying in Payson with McKenzie, and we're going to work for a few weeks, cleaning out Wymount (the married housing), and I'll earn some more money before I go home. And then on the 7th or 8th, we're going to drive down to St. George, where we'll meet up with Alan. And then on the 9th Alan is going to drive me down to Las Vegas, I'll get to see him one more time before he goes on his mission, and I'll fly home out of there. Then I'll be home that night, just in time for Mother's Day and James' homecoming talk in church the next day. :)

Well... I feel like I made more decisions, but I guess that was it. :P

So today Dustin and Dallen got their mission calls, and Dallen is going to Chile, and Dustin is going to Guatemala. So cool! So we went to Payson to watch them open their calls and just hung out there for a while.

Today was pretty laid back... Alan, Somers, and I went to an American Heritage review session at noon until one, and it started SNOWING again. Blech. I love the snow, but I don't want to wear my boots anymore. I got used to the sun. But it was just like a blizzard today, and everything is completely covered now. My poor shoes are STILL frozen from this morning. After the review session, we just came back to our apartment and took a nap on the kitchen floor in our lovely blanket tent. :) Actually, scratch that. I think I was the only one who fell asleep. Alan was on my computer, and Krista and Somers were both on the couch doing I don't know what, but then they left and Mal came in and laid on the couch and played with my hair. I think that's about when I fell asleep, while she was playing with my hair. We basically just lounged around, until Somers and Krista went to a music recital or something that Krista was accompanying on the piano, and Alan, Mal, and I went to the Creamery because I had ZERO food. I haven't been wanting to buy food because I need to clear everything out now, but I was down to the bare minimum and didn't have any food left. So I just bought a bunch of perishables. :)

And... then we lounged around again until we went to Payson. :) It was a nice, relaxing day. Tomorrow I have to buckle down and study though, because I want to take most of my finals on Friday, and I have two scheduled finals on Saturday. Saturday night after my last final (which goes till 8:45 pm. YUCK!) Alan and I are driving to Salt Lake to pick up Rayne from the airport. She may or may not stay the night at my apartment. She has yet to find out if the Hutchings will be back from Tahoe that night or not. :)

Well, I should probably go to sleep so that I can get some studying done tomorrow. I'll update later!

Back Again

Hello!

I realized it's been a while since I last updated. I've been doing so much that when I have free time, I'm usually catching up on sleep. :)

Of course, I'm not going to be able to REMEMBER everything I've been doing... I just know I've been busy :P

I DO have some pictures though! Here you go!

This was taken after Holi, the Festival of Colors. It was up at the Hare Krishna Temple, and Alan, his friend from home, Scott, Mal, and I. We got dressed in our white and went up to the temple. We had to park a good mile or so away from the temple, it was so packed, and traffic rules were pretty much out for the day. Everyone was walking in the road because it was too packed. Once we got to the temple, all of the powder had been sold (we were about an hour and a half late), so we resorted to running towards people when they threw their bags around and picking up bags on the ground to look for a little powder left in the bottom. When we got back, Mal tried to take a picture of me, but missed, so she only got my eyes. But you can kind of see the powder. My entire right cheek was covered in purple because Alan found a bag that was still like, a third full. He dumped most of it in his hand and then just threw it right in my face from about a foot away as we were walking back to his car. :)

This was taken before the Valentine's Day Ball. I'm pretty sure I've aready talked about that before, but this is a picture I didn't have earlier. :)
Don't be fooled by his innocent smile. He hit me in the head with that stick. :P Of course, it wasn't intentional, he and Julie were messing around, and he happened to thwack me in the head with the end of it. :)
These two pictures are at a Chiefs Hockey game. Alan (Julie's Alan) is the goalie on the Chiefs team, which is a city league team. We went to several games this season, and this was taken at the last one. Julie had jerseys for Alan and I to wear, and she had her own Chiefs shirt. This game was rather... well, I don't know quite how to put it. :) This game was on April Fool's Day, and Alan was planning on helping me pull a prank on my parents by pretending to be my fiance. That day, however, Julie told me that this guy named Jeff, a friend of Alan Rosenhan's, wanted to ask me out. As flattered as I was... I really didn't want to go out with him. :) So Alan was ALSO going to pretend to be my boyfriend, so that Jeff would think I was taken. So we walk into the ice rink, holding hands, and guess what? He wasn't there. Alan promptly broke up with me. :P Of course, then Jeff gets my number from Julie, calls and leaves a message asking me to go to Divine Comedy with him, and I have to call him back and tell him, sorry, but I can't because I already have plans (which I did... I didn't just make plans once I got the message. Our ward was having this huge red carpet movie awards event. and there was imported Alaskan salmon. No way was I passing that up for a date I didn't want to go on).

This was on April Fool's Day. Somers stole my bed and everything underneath it while I was gone. :P
This was on our way back from Las Vegas. Alan wanted to stop in St. George, so we took some pictures in front of the temple. :)

We fail at jumping for the picture :)
When we were leaving Vegas.
We got the 16 different flavors from around the world at the Coca Cola factory. The Italian one was NASTY.
Julie loved the car, so we took a picture :)
We were going through a drivethru, and Julie wanted to take a picture, so, of course, I had to be a creeper and make an appearance in the back. :P
On the way to Vegas.
This was at the surprise party for Somers. Alan and Mike crack me up (in the back).

Let's see... what else have I been doing?

Well, last week, Alan, his friend from home, and I went up to Rexburg, Idaho. I stayed with Rayne overnight and went to classes with her. On the way back, a storm hit and we were driving about 40 mph and it took us about 3 hours to get out of Idaho, which it really shouldn't have. But it was a fun trip, and I was glad I got to go up and see Rayne.

This past week has been super busy. First off, we built an epic tent fort in our living room. It covers half of the kitchen. It's still up, and we're planning on leaving it up until we move out. :)

On Thursday, Alan, Mal, McKenzie, Dustin, and I went to some Peruvian place for dinner, which was DELICIOUS. Later that night, Alan, Eric (Alan's roommate), Somers, and I went to Area 51, another club in Salt Lake City. They have 80s night every Thursday night, so we got all dressed up. It was a lot of fun, and we got back around 2:20. Somers and I still had to write some papers, and so by the time we finished and I took a shower, it was 4. We woke up at 6 and met up with Alan again and went to watch a movie for our American Heritage class, and afterwards came back and passed out for a couple hours. I woke up again around 11-ish, and Alan came back over and we watched some episodes of 24.

We spent most of the day just lounging around because we were so tired from lack of sleep. Then we left around 10:3o and went up by American Fork. We hiked for 2.5 miles on some trail and stopped at some hot springs. We stayed there for a while, and it was so relaxing, but smelled so strongly of sulfur. We then hiked back to the trailhead, climbed in the car, and drove to another spot, where we watched Cloverfield in the car, wrapped up in blankets because we were still wet (Alan was the only smart one who brought regular clothes. Somers, Mal, and I all had our bathing suits on underneath our clothes, so our clothes soaked straight through). By the time we came back to campus, it was 5. I ended up going to bed around 6, and I slept till about 11ish. We went to Costco to buy stuff for our Easter dinner (salmon, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and rolls). afterwards, Anelise, Dustin's sister, took pictures of us so that we could finally have some apartment pictures. It was raining outside, so we tried to take pictures with umbrellas, but we ended up ditching them after a while and just got soaked.

Afterwards we raced home and got ready for our ward's red carpet Movie Awards night. We'd made movies with our FHE groups (and some people made other videos), and so everyone dressed up like celebrities, and we had a nice dinner of steak, salmon, salad, rolls, and three different types of pie :) The movies were hilarious and all in all, it was a really fun night. We then made a quick trip to the Creamery to finish getting everything we needed for Easter dinner, and then we dressed in white and neon colors and went to a party in some apartment from our ward. They'd taken their lights out and replaced them with blacklights, so we had a sweet party in their kitchen. :)

That pretty much catches me up to now, I think. And now I need to go to bed, because I have to wake up for church in 7 hours and I'm still extremely sleep deprived. :)
